"After an almost five-month wait, Gehana Vasisth will finally be let free. The bail case was delayed since, due to the Maharashtra lockdown, the courts were almost non-functional, making it hard to get the case heard even in the Bombay High Court.

The courts were then closed from May until the first week of June, and the holiday courts were reluctant to grant her bail application. The bail application was referred to the normal Court of Sessions, which was finally dismissed on Friday, according to her publicist
Flynn Remedios.

Her bail application was initially denied by the same Dindoshi Sessions court since the charge sheet had not yet been submitted. Gehana was granted bail in the other instances earlier this month, but the last case involving the Malwani Police Station was postponed due to the lockdown and the court vacation.

To obtain her release, Gehana must complete the bail formalities and provide sureties in front of the court. Gehana was arrested by the Mumbai police Crime Branch on February 6th in connection with a porn racket case. Along with her, eight others were arrested.

The Dindoshi Sessions court granted Gehana bail but stipulated that she may not leave the country without the approval of the court.

Gehana was infected with the Coronavirus while in the Byculla jail and was held in a jail quarantine center. She also had a stroke, and the prison officials admitted her to the J J hospital.

The police also questioned other celebrities in the case, including Sherlyn Chopra, Poonam Pandey, and others.

Sherlyn Chopra was granted anticipatory bail by the Bombay High Court, while celebrity businessman Raj Kundra, the husband of Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty, was summoned by the Crime Branch and the Maharashtra Police Cyber unit, and their statements were recorded. After almost all of the accused were granted bail, the case will now be heard in court.
