Background
Brig. (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.) has been the Lt. Governor of Ladakh, supervising the administration of the Union Territory during times of marked transition and progress. He was appointed by President Droupadi Murmu on February 19, 2023 after the acceptance of the resignation of Radha Khrishna Mathur.
His resignation has led to the senior political figure Kavinder Gupta being set to assume the position.
