Prince William and Harry have hit out at BBC over its treatment of their late mother Princess Diana. They slammed Journalist Martin Bashir over ‘the deceitful way’ he obtained the TV interview in which princess Diana shared details about her troubled marriage with Prince Charles, their extramarital affairs and her mental health struggles.

The statement came after an independent internal inquiry found out that Bashir deceived and manipulated Princess into taking part in the famous 1995 Panorama interview by pitting her against the British royal family. The inquiry says that the journalist used forged bank statements to mislead the princess into sitting with him for the sensational interview.

Prince William balmed that the interview had ‘a major contribution’ to the failure of their parent's relationship and BBC’s failures ‘contributed significantly to her fear, paranoia and isolation in her final years.’

“It is my firm view that this Panaoama programmed holds no legitimacy and should never be aired again,” he added.

In a separate release, Prince Harry said “the ripple effect of a culture of exploitation and unethical practices ultimately took her life.” “Our mother lost her life but nothing has changed” he added.

Prince Harry said, “She didn’t know who to trust and in the end, when she died two years later, she was without any form of real protection.”

Slamming the press, Prince William said, “In an era of fake news, public service broadcast and a free press have never been more important. These failings, identified by investigative journalists, not only let my mother down and my family down, it let the public down too.”

The investigation said that BBC covered up Bashir’s actions and has fallen short of the high standards of integrity and transparency that are BBC’s hallmarks.
