Priyanka’s heartfelt plea post Rahul Gandhi’s nomination in Wayanad

New Delhi: Post Congress president Rahul Gandhi filed his nomination from Kerala Wayanad, his sister who is also the party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi made a heartfelt request to the voters of Wayanad asking them to “take care of him”. Priyanka not only appealed for the vote, but also assured that Rahul will not let down the people of Wayanad. “My brother, my truest friend, and by far the most courageous man I know. Take care of him Wayanad, he won’t let you down”, Priyanka Gandhi Wadra wrote on her twitter handle.

Earlier in the morning, Rahul Gandhi after a stupendous welcome from the people of Wayanad filed his nomination in the presence of his sister Priyanka Gandhi and other leaders.  Rahul Gandhi had earlier in April that he will be contesting from traditional constituency Amethi in UP along with Wayanad. “What an incredible day in Wayanad, Kerala as Congress president Rahul Gandhi files his nomination. Thousands gathered to share their love and join in the revelry”, the Congress party had tweeted.

The decision is believed to strengthen party electoral base in the southern part of the country, especially Kerala. Kerala has 20 Lok Sabha seats in total with it. In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Congress had won eight seats in Kerala.
