A J&K Police cop attained martyrdom on the line of duty, while another one personnel from CRPF got injured this afternoon after suffering bullet injuries when terrorists fired upon a joint patrolling party of CRPF and J&K Police in Pulwama.
The area where this incident took place has been cordoned off and reinforcement has been deployed in the region to aid the security forces in the terror attack.
Informing about the incident Kashmir Zone Police wrote in a tweet, “Terrorists fired upon joint Naka party of CRPF & Police at Pinglana, Pulwama. In this terror attack, 01 Police personnel got martyred and 01 CRPF personnel got injured. Reinforcement sent. The area is being cordoned. Further details shall follow.” More details in this regard are awaited.
The incident took place hours after a terrorist linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) was shot dead in the encounter in another district Shopian. The terrorist was identified as Naseer Ahmad Bhat as informed by ADGP, Kashmir Vijay Kumar has recently escaped from an encounter and has remained involved in several terror crimes in the valley.
Moreover, it is pertinent to mention here that the incident is being reported from the valley at a time when the Union Home Minister Amit Shah is supposed to visit the Kashmir valley on a two-day trip where he will visit Rajouri on October 4th while Baramulla on October 5th.
