Punjab Assembly session: Budget grants to be discussed today, government to bring resolution against Agnipath scheme tomorrow

The Punjab government will discuss the budget grants today in the Vidhan Sabha session; the government will also present a resolution against the army recruitment scheme 'Agnipath'

The proceedings of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha's budget session will continue today. Today's Punjab budget will include a discussion of grants. The House's proceedings will get begin in the afternoon. The House was adjourned after yesterday's action. The Vidhan Sabha's budget session is set to end tomorrow.

A resolution opposing the Agnipath scheme of army recruitment will be presented in the House tomorrow on the last day of the session. Pratap Bajwa, the leader of the opposition party, made this demand on Tuesday which CM Bhagwant Mann agreed with. He agreed to present a resolution against it.

The issue of banning the SYL song by Sidhu Moosewala and the Twitter account for the Kisan Union was also brought up by Congress MLA Sukhpal Khaira. Additionally, it was decided to incorporate it in the proposal.

There was a loud uproar regarding the gangster Mukhtar Ansari. According to jail minister Harjot Bains, Ansari was detained in Punjab for two years and three months after filing a false FIR. The invoice for which has not been presented. In jail, he shared a cell with his wife. In prison, Ansari received special treatment.

Before that, Punjab's 1.55 lakh crore 2022–23 budget was presented in the assembly by Finance Minister Harpal Cheema. He said that this time, the budgets for health and education both has increases of 24% and 16%.
