Punjab CM denies receiving AAP Minister's resignation post sexual misconduct allegation in personal video

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday addressed an early morning press conference after announcing that all State's government offices will operate from 7:30 am to 2 pm from now on to operate all govt offices from 7:30 am to 2 pm. The decision to change in timing was taken by the Punjab CM keeping the alarming heat waves and scorching heat in mind. However, Punjab CM was bombarded with questions related to the accusations of Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira who reportedly submitted two purported personal videos of AAP Minister Lal Chand Kataruchakk to the Governor of Punjab alleging sexual misconduct. On being asked about AAP Minister's alleged personal videos showing sexual misconduct and reports that he has sent his resignation to the Punjab CM, Bhawant Mann said that there is no such things have happened.

It was reported that Khaira had submitted Lal Chand Kataruchakk's video to Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit and had asked him to do the forensics of the video in order to determine whether the video is genuine or not. However, Punjab CM denied it saying that the State Government has not received any kind of video and such allegations are being made because there is Jalandhar Bypoll coming soon. Furthermore, Mann accused Sukhpal Singh Khaira, Manjinder Singh Sirsa (BJP) and Bikram Majithjia have joined hands against the AAP as Jalandhar Byelection is approaching.

Earlier today, Sukhpal Singh Khaira, a former member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), tweeted that he had met with the Governor of Punjab to hand over highly objectionable video clips of gross misconduct by a minister of the AAP. He also claimed that he had sought their forensic verification and asked if genuinely told, the Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, would be dropped by the cabinet or arrested. Khaira went on to state that he had definite information that AAP media managers were calling up TV channels, asking them not to carry sexual misconduct allegations against the AAP minister. Khaira criticized the party, stating that this was a way to hijack and intimidate media from airing the truth. It is worth noting that the AAP has a history of disowning its ministers if they are ever found guilty of gross misconduct of power. In the past, they removed a party member, Vijay Singla, who was found guilty in corruption cases.
