Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday presented cricketer Jasinder Singh after former CM Charanjit Singh Channi did not come out in the open to accept the 'bribe for job' allegation. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann had given an ultimatum and deadline to Charanjit Singh Channi to come clean on allegations that his nephew had sought a bribe of Rs 2 crore to give a government job to a player till May 31. In response, Channi went to Gurdwara Katalgarh Sahib where he made 'Ardas' and denied the claims of bribe for job case saying that he has never asked even a single penny from anyone. CM Mann alleged that Channi's nephew had sought Rs 2 crore as a bribe in order to give a government job to him which was promised by Channi's predecessor Captain Amarinder Singh.

Finally, on May 31, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann presented the cricketer from whom bribes were allegedly demanded. Presenting him during the press conference, Bhagwant Mann informed that his name is Jasinder Singh and he was part of 'Kings XI Punjab' (now Punjab Kings), however, never featured in the playing XI. CM Mann further informed that Jasinder represented Punjab multiple times, like in Vijay Merchant Trophy, Cooch Behar Trophy, CK Naidu Trophy, and many more. During the press conference, CM Mann was joined by Jasinder Singh and his father Maninder Singh.

CM Man informed that Jasinder game exam for a government job in sports quota and its cut-off was 132.5 but the cricketer got 198.5. The exam was given under the sports quota, but the results came in the General cut-off. If going by sports quota Jasinder is a topper, however, in the General quota, the cutoff was high. As a result, Jasinder started visiting ministers and politicians. Jasinder visited (then) Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh. Amarinder Singh was briefed about Jasinder's case by MP Singh. However, PPSC officials stated that they do not consider cricket as a sport, on this Captain Amarinder had allegedly said that his grandfather used to play cricket. Therefore, he wrote a letter to the Home Ministry asking to consider Jasinder's case. Jasinder was assured by Captain Amarinder that in the next cabinet, his case will be discussed.

However, after Channi took over as the CM of Punjab, he was then briefed about Jasinder's case by Hussan Lal. Channi's response was same as Captain Amarinder and he assured Jasinder that in the next cabinet his case will be brought, but meet my nephew first your work will be done. The man who was said to be Channi's nephew revealed his name as 'Jashn'. He stated that Jasinder's work will be done and then gestured with 'two fingers'. Assuming that the amount might be Rs 2 Lakh, the cricketer stated that he can give them the amount right now, but he was told to take two to three days.

Cricketer Jasinder's father Manjinder Singh, who was present with the Chief Minister in the press conference, said that he had a 10-minute meeting with the then Chief Minister Charanjit Channi on 9 November 2021 in Mohali. Then Channi was accompanied by the then Deputy CM OP Soni and former minister Balbir Sidhu. Apart from the photo of the meeting between Manjinder Singh and Channi, Bhagwant Mann also showed the invitation letter of that day's program to the media.

During the press conference, CM Mann was asked whether there will be any FIR be registered in the bribe for job case against Channi and his nephew, then the Punjab CM stated that everything will take place step by step because it was said that there is no player who has accused the former Punjab CM.
