Punjab CM rejects resignation of state Congress president Sunil Jakhar, Cabinet Minister Sukhjinder Randhawa: Sources

Notably, today's night curfew timing extension and weekend lockdown announcement was done by Mr. Sunil Jakhar.

Significant news just broke in, Punjab Congress President Sunil Jakhar and Cabinet Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa have resigned from their respective positions during the April 26 Cabinet Meeting.

 Sukhjinder Randhawa, Jail Minister, in the meeting said to CM that if the party doesn’t trust us, what is our purpose in the Cabinet. However, it has been confirmed by the sources that Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh has torn the resignation of both leaders thus, rejected it. It is being anticipated that in order to prevent any wrong information to float in political arenas of the state CM asked Mr. Jakhar to brief the press post-cabinet meeting. 

As of now, there is no confirmation from the official sources that both the eminent leaders of the party have submitted their resignations to Punjab CM.

The resign has come in lieu of Kunwar Vijay Pratap’s matter.

Notably, Congress MLA and former minister Navjot Sidhu from the past few days have been quite vocal against the Congress over the Bargari sacrilege issue.
