Days after meeting the AICC panel and being offered some high-powered positions, cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu has once again turned down the offers.

According to the reports, Sidhu was offered the position of Deputy Chief Minister in lieu to join the Punjab Congress ahead of Assembly Elections 2022. However, on Tuesday all the speculations have come to an end after sources believe that Sidhu is not ready to work under the CM Capt Amarinder Singh.

It has also been learnt from the sources that Sidhu has also informed the three-member panel, constituted to resolve the party’s internal feud,  that if he would accept the deputy CM post, “he will not be comfortable.”

In his meeting with the three-member panel, Sidhu has also asserted that the Chief Minister is not accessible. Most of the Congress MLAs, party leaders, and workers are being sidelined by the CM, he added.

Reiterating here, Navjot Sidhu has always targeted Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) prominent leader and he believes that they are influencing the Punjab government.

However, Sidhu’s resentment has once again made it clear that the matter is complicated and it would take a little more time for the panel to resolve the party’s internal conflict ahead of Assembly elections.

Meanwhile, the Congress High-Command is likely to take a decision on the recommendations of the three-member panel this week.
