Punjab Elections 2022: Two seats of Congress MLAs in Jalandhar most likely to flip in polls

The difficulties of Punjab’s Congress party are multiplying. It won’t be an easy win for Congress this time in Punjab. Internal conflicts and local issues among the leaders of Congress are big trouble for the party.

Two seats of Congress MLAs in Jalandhar are most likely to flip in polls. From Jalandhar North – the seat of MLA Bawa Henry and from Jalandhar West – the seat of MLA Sushil Rinku are in danger.

Due to the following reasons, MLA Bawa Henry might lose his seat in elections:

• Two Congress leaders – Dinesh Dhal Kali and Pawan Jassal left the Congress party and joined AAP and Kisan party respectively. Both will contest elections from the opposition parties.
• Moreover, Kapurthala Minister Rana Gurjit Singh is strongly opposing Bawa Henry. The internal conflict is responsible for it.

• Along with this, BJP candidate KD Bhandari has a stronghold and is having great chances of winning from Jalandhar North.

• Congress MLA Rinku, AAP and SAD-BSP alliance party candidates from Jalandhar West belongs to the same community and BJP candidate is from the Bhagat community, so the vote bank largely depends upon the majority of the community residing in that area.
• Not only this, Channi’s relative Mohinder Singh Kaypee was trying his best to contest the election from Jalandhar West but he failed and got a ticket from Adampur. He is not happy with the party’s decision and there are chances that he might create a ruckus due to this.

On Wednesday, Jakhar’s statement has already raised concern among the party leaders. It will be interesting to see which party will emerge as the ruling party during Punjab Assembly Elections 2022.
