One-MLA-One-Pension Bhagwant-Mann CM-Mann

Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit has approved the 'One MLA-One pension' scheme. The file was pending with the Governor for a long time. After the Governor's approval, a gazette notification has been issued in this regard.

CM Bhagwant Mann gave the notification himself from his Twitter account. "One MLA one pension in Punjab will revolutionize and reform the Indian political system."- said CM Mann. The Punjab government is expected to save around Rs 100 crore during its current tenure with this historic initiative.

More than 100 former MLAs, according to Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, were receiving multiple pensions. If we have a service-oriented mindset in politics, we can live off of a pension. According to Cheema, the government is attempting to cut costs that are unnecessarily reducing earnings. The Punjab government will keep making such pro-people decisions for the benefit of the state.

Parkash Singh Badal, Punjab's five-time Chief Minister, gets the highest pension. A pension of about Rs. 6 lakh was to be given to him. Nevertheless, he had refused to accept his pension a few days prior to the start of this law. In addition to him, former Chief Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, a six-term member of the legislature, Lal Singh, former minister Sarwan Singh Phillaur, five-term member Balwinder Singh Bhundar, and Sukhdev Dhindsa all receive pensions of Rs. 3.25 lakh each. As Rajya Sabha members, they also receive separate salaries and pension benefits. This time Captain Amarinder Singh also lost the election, so he too had to get a pension of lakhs which will now stop.

Talking to the people about the AAP government's decision, Sunidhi, a student of Bsc. said that it is a good decision by the government. But the money saved by implementing this scheme should be used properly.
