Continuing their demand to repeal the three farm laws, Punjab Congress Members of Parliament Santokh Singh Chaudhary, Preneet Kaur, Manish Tewari, Amar Singh and Jasbir Singh Gill participated in a demonstration near Gandhi statue here at Parliament House.

Many Opposition MPs including Santokh Singh Chaudhary had moved adjournment motions in the morning seeking suspension of the business and a discussion on farm laws.

MP Santokh Chaudhary said that the farmers and labourers of the nation have been protesting against the three agriculture legislations for months and instead of accepting their demands, the central government is attempting to suppress their voices.

He said the government is more interested in managing headlines and to that end, it has suspended internet services and even asked Twitter to withhold pro-farmers accounts.

“Instead of building the barricades, the government should build bridges, and the first step in that direction would be a full repeal of the farm laws,” he added.
