Chandigarh, February 8: Taking suo moto notice of a newspublished in a section of media highlighting the matter of labour rightsactivist Naudeep Kaur, the Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes onMonday asked the Additional Chief Secretary (Home) to intervene in the matterto ensure relief of the victim at the earliest. The Commission has also soughta report, in this regard by February 23, after initiating immediate requisiteaction. 

Disclosing this here today Mrs. Tejinder Kaur ChairpersonPunjab State schedule casts Commission said that commission has taken the suomoto since the victim is a resident of Sri Muktsar Sahib district. In acommuniqué to the Additional Chief Secretary Home Affairs and Justice, theCommission has written to intervene besides ensuring the relief to the victimas the matter was very serious and is an act of Atrocity on a member of theScheduled Castes community.

Pertinently, an English daily has published a news itemregarding the matter of labour rights activist Naudeep Kaur (23), who had beenin police custody for almost a month and denied bail by a Sessions Court inHaryana.
