Punjab to see major weather change from THIS date; Rain & Hailstorm likely

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain along with hailstorm at some regions of the state

In a calm before the storm scenario, the weather will be clear in Punjab today and tomorrow (Feb 28 and 29), the weather will change completely from March 1. The Western Disturbance has started increasing its activity once again in the Western Himalayan region. Due to this the cold is also likely to increase. In light of this, a yellow alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department. From March 1 to March 3, winds will blow at a speed of 30-40 km per hour at many places in the state.

 

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain along with hailstorm at some regions of the state. People have advised to exercise caution in light of this situation.

 

Current temperature conditions in Punjab:

Ludhiana district is the hottest in the state. Due to changes in the weather, fluctuations in minimum and maximum temperatures continue. In many districts the difference between minimum and maximum temperatures has become 3 degrees. At the same time, the temperature in the state has recorded a drop of 1.8 degrees below normal. The highest temperature was recorded in Ludhiana.

 

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a temperature of 22.6 degrees, Patiala 20.8 degrees, Pathankot 23.3, Bathinda 22.4, SBS Nagar 21.2, Barnala 20.06, Faridkot 22.9, Fatehgarh Sahib 21.0 degrees.
