Punjab Tourist beaten to death by locals in Dharamshala Dhaba over a ‘sitting dispute’

A tourist from Phagwara, Punjab was beaten to death by a mob in a ‘dhaba’ over a minor ‘sitting arrangement’ dispute.

In harrowing news, a tourist from Punjab was beaten to death by a mob in a ‘dhaba’ over a minor ‘sitting arrangement’ dispute.

 

Navdeep Singh, 33, a tourist from Punjab’s Phagwara, was beaten to death by a mob over a “sitting arrangement” dispute at a dhaba in Bhagsunag near Dharamshala. According to reports, a group of four friends from Phagwara were having lunch at the dhaba when an argument ensued between them and the dhaba owner.

 

A police officer said the tourists were attacked by the dhaba owner, his workers, and a few local men, and were badly beaten up. According to eyewitnesses, the mob also included a few local taxi drivers.

 

Navdeep fell to the ground and lost consciousness following which he was rushed to the hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead. A case of murder has been registered against the Dhaba owner, and the locals with six people currently detained.
