

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Mondayled the Vidhan Sabha in paying tribute to eminent personalities, includingfarmers and farm labourers died during the ongoing farmers’ agitation, freedomfighters and political personalities besides unsung Covid warriors, who hadpassed away since the last session of the Assembly.
On the inaugural sitting of Budget Session (14th session)of the 15th Vidhan Sabha, the House paid respects to Ex-Union Minister ButaSingh, Ex Ministers Mahinder Singh Gill, Major Singh Uboke, Bal Mukand Sharma,Satpal Gosain and Satwant Kaur Sandhu, Ex Deputy Minister Joint PunjabChandrawati and Ex-MLA Brij Lal Goyal.
The House also paid rich tributes to the farmers and farmlabourers, who lost their lives during the ongoing farmers’ agitation againstthe central farm laws.
The House also paid homage to legendary Punjabi SingerSardul Sikander, devotional singer Narinder Chanchal and Journalist SatbirSingh Dardi. The House also remembered Martyr Naib Subedar Parwinder Singh,freedom fighters Ajit Singh, Jathedar Gohal Singh Tur, Balwant Singh andHarbans Singh.
On the occasion, the House also paid homage to Covidvictims who had fell pray to the pandemic.
On the request of MLA from Mansa Nazar Singh Manshahia,eminent theatre Artiste Mohan Midha and noted Writer Darshan Darvesh were alsoadded to the obituary list.
A two-minute silence was observed in the memory ofdeparted souls as a mark of respect during the obituary references.
Meanwhile, Speaker Rana Kanwar Pal Singh proposed thathomage be paid to all those members who had passed away since the previoussession. After the obituary references to the departed souls, he passed aresolution for conveying the condolences of the House to their respectivefamilies. The resolution was passed by voice vote.
