Punjab and other parts of North India have been witnessing sweltering heat for the past few days. Despite repeated warnings of thunderstorms and rainfall in multiple districts of Punjab, the temperature is continuously touching and even breaking the 40°C mark. On May 21, Bathinda's temperature surpassed 47°C. Not only this, but Ludhiana’s highest temperature also reached up to 43°C. However, the lowest temperature remained at 30.6°C, which led to breaking a 55-year-old temperature record. Now, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) of Chandigarh unit has predicted 4 days of rainfall in Punjab. Continue reading below to know about Punjab Rainfall Prediction-

Notably, multiple states, including Mumbai, will receive rainfall in the upcoming days. The IMD attributed the abnormal pattern to a cyclonic circulation over Haryana, embedded in an east-west trough from Punjab to Bangladesh. Moisture from both the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal is fueling this system, triggering thunderstorms and downpours. These unseasonal rains could be an early sign of an active and possibly intense monsoon. The erratic weather patterns suggest a shift in traditional seasonal cycles, possibly linked to broader climate variability.
