Punjab Witnesses Comback Of Gang Wars; Gangsters Operating From Jails

Six months ago, a Congress leader was murdered, and Yuva Akali Dal leader Vicky Middukhera was murdered on 7th August in Mohali.

Increased incidents of gang wars, murders in Punjab have exposed the incompetence of the Punjab government. While the ruling Congress government claims of eradicating crime like breaking the back of drugs, however, on the contrary, another person from the political world has been murdered in just 6 months. 

Six months ago, a Congress leader was murdered, and Yuva Akali Dal leader Vicky Middukhera was murdered on 7th August in Mohali. 

Gangster Davinder Bambhia's group has claimed to kill him over personal rivalry, which puts a big question on the claims of the Punjab government. 

The state government is claiming that several gangsters have been killed or are in jail, and is also putting up hoardings across the state. Around 3347 gangsters have been arrested, it asserted. 

A few days ago, after the encounter of a well-known gangster, Jaipal Bhullar that took place in Kolkata, Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Dinkar Gupta said that the state's police have so far killed 31 A grade gangsters. 

Several people have been murdered in the gang war including Vicky Middukheda, who was a close aide to former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal, a youth leader of the Shiromani Akali Dal, who was killed in personal enmity. Earlier in February, Congress leader Gurlal Pehalwan of Faridkot was killed. Even before that Gurlal Brar was murdered in Chandigarh. Lavi Dayoda, the bouncer of a club, was killed due to gang war. Many such names are included in the list of getting killed in gang wars. 

Davinder Bambiha, a resident of a village near Moga, was killed five years ago in an encounter near Rampura Phool, but his gang is still active. Bambiha was included in the list of most wanted 31 gangsters in Punjab. 

Another notorious gangster from Rajasthan Lawrence Bishnoi is lodged in Tihar Jail, but his gang is actively committing crimes in the state.  

After the murder of Lavi Dayoda in Kotkapura in 2017, the Lawrence Bishnoi group took to Facebook claimed the responsibility for the murder of Gurlal Pehalwan in Faridkot, meanwhile, the Davinder Bambiha group has claimed the responsibility of killing Vicky Middukheda on themselves. 

It should be noted that these notorious gangs become active when elections are nearing. In 2017, Lavi was murdered during election time. 

As assembly elections 2022 is nearing, politics is heating up, meantime Gurlal Brar Sopu leader, on 19 February 2021, Youth Congress leader Gurlal Pehelwan and now Vicky Middukheda have been murdered. 

Lakhkha Sidhana, who has quit the gangster's life, speaking about gang war,  had once said that "Politicians have always used gangsters and activate their gangs as soon as elections are near."

However, the Central Home Department has been contacted by the Punjab Police after forming a list of such gangsters, who are operating crimes from inside the jail. 

State DGP Dinkar Gupta has also revealed about jailed gangsters who are operating crimes.
