Punjab’s former CM Rajinder Kaur Bhattal tests covid19 positive

Sharing the news on twitter, the Punjab Congress wished her a "speedy recovery".

Former Punjab Chief Minister Bibi Rajinder Kaur Bhattal on Thursday tested positive for covid9. As per reports, she has isolated herself in her home at Chandigarh and her condition is reported to be normal.

Bhattal’s son, Rahul Sidhu, a Congress Leader, shared this news on social media and said, “My mother has tested positive to coronavirus after having cold, cough and mild fever for three to four days and has isolated herself. As a precautionary measure, I am going to self isolate myself for 14 days.” He added that “I request all who had come in contact of me and my mother take precautionary measures, care and self isolate them.  

He also informed that he and her mother has canceled all future plans and engagements.

In the past, many Punjab ministers have reported positive including Punjab’s Manpreet Singh Badal, Tript Singh Bajwa, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and even three people from Punjab’s CM security were also found positive for the virus. 

The rise in cases of coronavirus in the state has been continuously increasing. On Wednesday, Punjab state reported 63 deaths from coronavirus and the tally reached 7,278. The tally rose to 2.6 lakh with fresh 2,997 corona cases on the same day.
