Decoupled, rather than being a standard story focused on plot development, appears to place a greater emphasis on the character development of its characters.

Arya and Shruti exchange repartees, clapbacks, and genuinely honest moments on-screen from the beginning to the end of the video.

"Decoupled is about a guy who can see in any circumstance what others are taught to overlook," Manu Joseph Mehta, the show's creator, said. Naturally, this gets him in difficulty wherever he goes, and this kind of objectivity is unhealthy for a husband. One of our objectives was to keep things as real as possible. The problem about humour is that if it isn't genuine, it isn't funny; and the hardest part about comedy is that every component of a scene has to work in order for it to work.”

"It was incredible to see Madhavan shed his good-boy persona for the starring role and delve into his criminal side." Surveen Chawla, who plays his long-suffering wife, had a very difficult role to play since portraying a regular, sane person is exceedingly difficult. And I owe a debt of gratitude to the filmmaker, Hardik Mehta, for teaching me that men with fantastic hairstyles can still be grounded and hardworking,” he continued.

"I play the character of 'Arya,' a pulp-fiction writer who suffers from a rather uncompromised sense of objectivity and clarity, along with a determination to not compromise (ever!) – which is hilarious especially when pitted against his calm and composed wife Shruti, played by Surveen," Madhavan, who plays Arya in the film, said. I'm ecstatic to be working with such a large company as Netflix, and I'm grateful to Manu Joseph and Hardik Mehta for bringing this character and story to life. Surveen was a joy to work with from start to finish, and I hope the on-screen chemistry and comedy we have will have people laughing uncontrollably.”

Netflix will begin streaming the Hardik Mehta-directed film on December 17th.
