As many states across the country are witnessing acuteshortage of covid19 vaccines and many health centres lying closed due to theunavailability of the same, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday attackedthe Centre's vaccine strategy and alleged it's akin to demonetisation.
Congress leader took to twitter and in Hindi said(loosely translated), "Union government's vaccine strategy is not lessthan the demonetisation… common people will queue up… will bear the loss ofwealth, health and life… and at the end only a few corporates will get the benefit”.
The Congress had earlier also criticised the vaccinepolicy and said centre government miserably failed to combat the covid crisis. The Congress had alleged that the Union government is running away from itsresponsibilities and the modified vaccine policy will overburden the states andlead to profiteering but the Union government has finally acknowledged theproblem of vaccine shortage and other deficiencies in the current vaccinepolicy.
"Under themodified vaccine policy the Union government is running away from takingresponsibility; it overburdens the states, encourages vaccine manufacturers toprofiteer, and will worsen the inequality between states as well as betweenpoor and rich Indians. Nowhere in the world has any government left itsvaccination programme to be determined by the vagaries of market forces, andfor good reason," Chidambaram had said on Tuesday.
