Expressing the solidarity of the Congress party with the protesting farmers, and demanding repeal of farm laws, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi reached Parliament on a tractor on Monday.

Rahul Gandhi was seen entering the Parliament area through Vijay Chowk, flanked by other Congress MPs from Punjab and Haryana like Partap Singh Bajwa, Ravneet Singh Bittu and Deepender Hooda. The protesting MPs were seen holding placards "Repeal Farm Laws" and "Repeal anti-farmer black laws" as Gandhi's tractor made its way to Parliament. The tractor also carried a big banner in front and read "Rollback all three black farm laws".

Later, addressing the reporters, Rahul Gandhi said he has brought the suppressed voices of the farmers to Parliament during the ongoing monsoon session. “I want to tell all the farmers that the entire country is standing with you. Jai Jawan Jai Kisan”, he said.

He said that they'll have to repeal these black laws. "Entire country knows for whose benefit this (three farm laws) is being done. This is not in favour of farmers and the government will have to withdraw these three black farm laws," he added.

The Delhi Police then detained Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala and IYC national President Srinivas B.V. along with scores of party workers.

Rahul Gandhi, Congress and several opposition parties have been demanding withdrawal of three farm laws.

Thousands of farmers from Punjab, Haryana and Western Uttar Pradesh have been protesting against the three farm laws since November 26 last year. Farmers have been demanding withdrawal of these farm laws and ensuring MSP to their produce.
