After Navjot Singh Sidhu's sudden resignation as state Congress President, there has been a ruckus in the Punjab unit. The situation at party’s Delhi headquarters is no different as the press conference scheduled at 3: 30 pm is delayed for the third time.
The said press conference was set to be held at 3:30 pm after the induction of Kanhaiya Kumar and Jignesh Mevani in Congress. However, after the unexpected resignation by Navjot Sidhu, the meeting was earlier delayed till 4:30 and then again was scheduled at 5 pm.
On being asked about Sidhu's resign as Punjab congress head, party leader Rahul Gandhi decided to remain silent and left the place.
Meanwhile, addressing a press conference, Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi said he had “no knowledge of Sidhu's resignation.”
“We will sit together and settle everything. Let me speak to Sidhu," Channi said, adding, "I trust Sidhu. I have full confidence and faith in Sidhu Sahab."

The cricketer turned politician, Sidhu today resigned from his post of Punjab PCC chief and said he’ll continue to work for the party. Capt Amarinder’s camp, on the other hand, apparently enjoyed the key development in state politics as several leaders slammed Sidhu.
Media advisor to Capt, Raveen Thukral tweeted, “jiski fitrat hi dansna ho wo to dasega mat socha kar… (Mehdi Hassan sahib plays on my iPhone).”
Senior party Manish Tewari was also seen targeting Sidhu as he tweeted, “The immortal Kuldeep Manak once wrote & sang- Chade Mirza Khan Nu Vadi Bhabi Dindi Mat...Phat Rana Di Dosti...Khuri Jina Di Mat....Has Has Laun Yarian...Te Ro Ro Dein Chad....Mera Punjab Sada Hasda Vasda Rawe".
