After back-to-back days of heatwave and intense summers in the last week of April, the month of May 2025 has brought major relief for the people of Punjab. Multiple districts of Punjab, including Amritsar and Patiala, have witnessed thunderstorms and hailstorms in the past few days. Due to this, the weather in Punjab has become relatively cooler, and the maximum temperature that was once exceeding the 40°C mark in almost all districts has now fallen flat. Now, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has made another prediction regarding rainfall in Punjab.

As per IMD of Chandigarh Unit, Punjab will continue to witness rainfall for the next 4 days starting from May 3. However, the rainfall will not be like a thunderstorm or a hailstorm. Below is a list of districts/cities where rainfall is predicted to be witnessed, depending and the dates-

Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana - Dr Pawneet Kaur Kingra informed True Scoop, "Due to recent western disturbances, strong winds and light showers have been observed in parts of Punjab, causing a noticeable drop in temperatures. The IMD has issued a yellow alert, and similar weather is expected to continue for the next four to five days.”

After thunderstorms and rainfall in many districts, the temperature in multiple districts of Punjab fell flat. As per the IMD Chandigarh daily briefing- 

Amritsar registered a maximum temperature of 30.8°C on May 2, Ludhiana- 30.8°C, Patiala- 28.4°C, Pathankot- 31.7°C, Bathinda- 30°C, Faridkot- 27.5°C, Gurdaspur- 33.5 (hottest in Punjab on May 2)
