Ranbir Kapoor tests positive for Covid-19, mother Neetu Kapoor assures fans ‘he is recovering well’

Actor Ranbir Kapoor’s mother, actor Neetu Kapoor took to Instagram to share his health update with his fans.

Actor Ranbir Kapoor has tested positive for Covid-19. He is on medication and living in quarantine at home. Confirming the news, Ranbir's mother Neetu Kapoor took to Instagram on Tuesday to share her son's health update and informed that he is recovering well. 

Sharing a photo of Ranbir, Neetu wrote: "Thank you for your concern and your good wishes. Ranbir has tested positive for Covid-19. He is on medication and recovering well. He is in self-quarantine at home and following all precautions."

 

Commenting on Neetu's post, fans and followers shared their wishes for Ranbir's speedy recovery. 

Ranbir's sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and cousin Karisma Kapoor also took to her Instagram story to share a selfie with her ailing brother. 

One fan wrote, "Praying for his speedy recovery.” Another wrote, "Get well soon Ranbir We wish him a speedy recovery. Much love & power to him You all to take good care.”

Earlier on Monday, Ranbir's uncle Randhir Kapoor had spoken about Ranbir’s health to Pinkvilla and said he believes he is not well, “but I am not sure what he has got. I am not in town," he added.

Neetu had contracted the coronavirus in December last year while shooting for her upcoming movie Jug Jug Jeeyo. "Earlier this week I tested positive for Covid- 19. All safety measures are being followed and I am thankful to the authorities for all their help and quick response. I am in self-quarantine, taking medication on my doctor’s advice and feeling better. I am so grateful for all your love and support! Please stay safe, wear a mask, keep a safe distance. Take care," she had written in a post.

On the work front, Ranbir has lately been busy shooting for Ayan Mukerji's action fantasy multistarrer film "Brahmastra" alongside girlfriend Alia Bhatt, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Mouni Roy in important roles. However, it is being speculated that the shoot will be temporarily stalled with the lead actor contracting Covid-19.

Ranbir's next release is Karan Malhotra’s action drama film "Shamshera" on June 25, co-starring Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor, and is produced by Yash Raj Films.
