The murder of Shiv Sena leader Sudhir Suri has sparked a massive row on the political front with opposition parties slamming the government and Police officials for failing to secure Punjab. Despite tight Police security two miscreants open fired at Sudhir who was sitting at a dharna near Gopal Mandir in Amritsar on Friday. While one of the miscreants named Sandeep Sunny was arrested, the other one fled from the spot. Sudhir Suri's initial city scan report suggests that he was shot four times due to which he succumbed to his injuries. Now, Sudhir Suri's son Manik Suri has made some shocking revelations while speaking to the media on Saturday.
Manik revealed that his family including his father got a threatening call from the United Kingdom. Furthermore, he revealed that the caller introduced himself as Amritpal Singh and stated that he will be sending his men as his 'deal is done'. "There was a threat call the night before the incident. My father received a call from the UK. The caller introduced himself as Amritpal Singh and said he was sending some men and his deal is done...It was planned, 4 bullets hit him," said Manik Suri.
Furthermore, Manik made 4 demands and vowed that till his demands are not met he will not burry his father. Speaking to the media, Manik said, "We're (Suri's family) receiving threatening calls from outside. We have told DGP and gave in writing too. We are demanding status of martyr for my father, suspension of negligent officers and security, and another accommodation for us. Won't cremate him until our demands are met."

On Friday, Sudhir Kumar Suri, the Shiv Sena leader was shot at around 3:30 pm near Gopal Mandir on Friday. Sudhir Kumar Suri was on the hit list of Pro-Khalistan elements for the past few months. Reportedly, the accused shot 2 bullets at Sudhir while he was in the dharna. His supporters were also present there when the incident took place. Explaining the incident, witnesses told that as he was on a protest, someone suddenly fired on him after which he was taken to the Escort Hospital by his security personnel. Police reveal that some unidentified youths came near Gopal Mandi, and opened fire on Sudhir Kumar Suri. Soon after this, he was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead.
