IAS officer Parampal Kaur Sidhu joined the BJP this Thursday after tendering her resignation. However, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, responded in a strongly worded post on X saying that the Punjab Government has not yet accepted the resignation, yet she has already taken the step to join the BJP.

The CM pointed out that there is a procedure and set ways for resignation, which she must follow or else her life-long earnings might be lost. The CM wrote in the post- “Parampal Kaur ji's resignation as IAS officer was not accepted by Punjab Govt..Biba ji was in such a hurry to become IAS..there are set ways to quit..please understand how to resign..otherwise life long earnings may be at risk.”

Punjab's former IAS officer Parampal Kaur Sidhu joined the BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Sidhu had tendered her resigned from the IAS officer post which fuelled speculation that she will enter politics and will fight Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Apart from being a former IAS officer, Parampal Kaur Sidhu is the daughter-in-law of former Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) minister Sikander Singh Maluka. Reports suggest that BJP may field Parampal Kaur Sidhu from Bathinda Lok Sabha seat.
