According to police, Tarsem Singh fired at least four rounds from his licensed revolver. His son, Bachittar Singh, died on the spot after being shot in the head. Know the case details

Tarsem Singh, a resident of Rajasansi, reportedly married Jagir Kaur decades ago and later married a second woman, Gurmeet Kaur, around 45 years ago. He has two sons with his second wife, while Jagir Kaur has a son and a daughter.

Jagir’s daughter, Palwinder Kaur, alleged that Tarsem abandoned their family when she was just six months old and later refused to give them a share in the family property. The mother and children were reportedly raised through tailoring work. A legal dispute over property rights is currently ongoing in court.

Just two days before, Gurmeet Kaur’s sons allegedly assaulted Jagir Kaur. A complaint was filed with the Sadar police, leading the station to summon both families on Friday. While they waited outside, an argument escalated, and Tarsem Singh pulled out his revolver and began firing.

As per the Police officials, Tarsem Singh was arrested immediately by police officers stationed nearby. He was taken into custody and presented at the Majitha Road police station. The revolver used in the crime is licensed, and further investigation is ongoing.

Police have confirmed that a case has been registered, and forensic analysis of the weapon and CCTV footage is underway.
