'Rhea Chakraborty's cry for Justice and Truth has prevailed': Satish Maneshinde on Bombay HC verdict on Sushant's sisters

On Monday, the Bombay High Court ordered the cancellation of the FIR lodged against Mitu Singh, sister of Sushant Singh Rajput. However, the FIR against Sushant's second sister Priyanka refused to be canceled. Rhea Chakraborty's lawyer Satish Manashinde has welcomed the High Court's decision. He described it as the victory of Rhea Chakraborty's tears.

Maneshinde said, "Petition filed by Priyanka Singh seeking Quashing of FIR filed by Rhea Chakraborty for offences of Forgery and Violating NDPS Act by getting Bogus Prescription for Illegally Administered Medicines to SSR Dismissed by Justice Shinde & Justice Karnik , Bombay High Court . We are satisfied with the verdict. It appears ultimately Rhea Chakraborty's cry for Justice and Truth has prevailed. Satya Meva Jayate."

Rhea Chakraborty had filed a case against Dr. Tarun Kumar of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and Priyanka and Mitu, two sisters of Sushant, at Bandra Police Station in Mumbai. The three were charged with giving drugs to Sushant by forging a fake medical prescription. The case was challenged by the Sisters of Sushant in the Bombay High Court in November 2020. They claimed in the application filed through Avikil Madhav Thorat that the doctor had prescribed medicines for Sushant. They have not committed any crime.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his house in Bandra, Mumbai on 14 June 2020. During the investigation, Mumbai police had said that he was a victim of depression and therefore committed suicide. However, the dispute continued over the entire case for several months.
