In the Khargone district, police carried out an operation that felt like a scene from a Hindi movie. They sent a police SUV to Shahkot, Jalandhar, to catch two arms smugglers who had been hiding there for almost a week. Instead of their usual morning, the smugglers woke up to police sirens.

To catch them, the head of the Jaitapur police station disguised himself as a rickshaw driver and pretended to sell jaggery. The police team stayed undercover for hours. Finally, when the two suspects laughed together, it gave the police the signal to arrest them.

The two fugitives, Veerpal Singh and Jagvinder Singh, first made news on May 30 when Khargone police found six homemade pistols hidden under their bike seat. That night, they escaped from the Jaitapur police station while the guards were distracted.

After their escape, the Superintendent of Police quickly formed a special team to find them, skipping normal procedures. Police put up sketches of the suspects and created a WhatsApp group called "Cheetah-01" to share updates. A tip-off led the team to Shahkot, where they learned the suspects had traveled in a truck from the Agra-Mumbai Highway to Punjab.

Some officers worked openly with local police, while others went undercover—one as a rickshaw driver and another as a sugarcane juice seller. After hours of waiting, their clever disguises paid off, and the two fugitives were finally arrested.
