Robert Downey Jr wins his first-ever Oscar Award for best-supporting actor; thanks his 'terrible childhood'

It was the third time that Robert Downey Jr was nominated at the Oscars, however, his Academy Awards hiatus broke and he finally held an Oscar Award.

Hollywood ace actor on Monday (India time) won his first-ever Oscar Award in the Best Supporting Actor category for his role in the movie Oppenheimer. It was the third time that Robert Downey Jr was nominated at the Oscars, however, his Academy Awards hiatus broke and he finally held an Oscar Award. For the unversed, Downey Jr. convincingly portrayed Lewis Strauss, a character who initially appeared as an ally to the protagonist (Cillian Murphy) but later revealed his true conniving nature. 

 

Robert also gave a hilarious yet powerful speech in which he thanked his wife saying she 'found me a snarling rescue pet and loved me back to life' and he thanked his agent, who 'spent half of his career trying to get me insured'. Downey Jr. beat many veteran stars at the Oscars. In the Best Supporting Actors who were nominated included- Sterling K Brown - American Fiction, Robert De Niro - Killers of the Flower Moon, Ryan Gosling - Barbie, and Mark Ruffalo - Poor Things.
