Punjabschool education minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla, on Wednesday, said that theirgovernment has released a grant of Rs. 6.8 crore for purchase of LED TV screensin as many as 6,180 government schools across the state.

Thecabinet minister said that the state government under the visionary leadershipof Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has continuously been convertingordinary classrooms into smart classrooms to provide quality education to thestudents of government schools.

Headded that new LED screens will be provided to Middle, High and SeniorSecondary schools and the required directions have also been sent to districteducation officers.

Mr.Vijay Inder Singla said that the school education department has especiallydeveloped e-content of the syllabus and the audio-visual teaching techniqueshave been helping the students to easily understand the difficult terms.

Headded that the reforms introduced by their government has shown positiveresults as the government schools have outshine private schools in the terms ofresults which helped to restore trust of parents in government schools.

Inthe directions issued to the district education officers, the school educationdepartment has clarified that each school has been facilitated with the grantof Rs. 11,000. For the purchase of LED screens, the school managementcommittees will have to pass a resolution and will also have to follow financialrules.

Theschool heads and teachers have also been asked to install screens on adequateplaces for proper utilization besides encouraging students for safe maintenanceof LED TVs.
