A panel consisting of high-level officers has been put on the task to investigate the murder of Darya Dugina, daughter of Russian ultra-nationalist philosopher and “Putin’s Brain” (as mentioned by western media) Alexander Dugina.

The car fitted with explosives that killed Darya Dugina originally belonged to her father, said Andrei Krasnov, head of the Russky Gorizont (Russian Horizon) social movement and a close aide of Dugina's family while briefing the Russian state news agency TASS on the matter.

Krasnov went on to say that Darya used to drive a different car but she took his father’s car today.

Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson of the Russian foreign ministry hints at the Ukrainian plotting in the case and warns of stiff action if this turned out to be true. "If the Ukrainian trace is confirmed... then we should talk about the policy of state terrorism implemented by the Kyiv regime."

In a Telegram post, she went on to elaborate saying, "There have been plenty of facts accumulated over the years: from political calls for violence to the leadership and participation of Ukrainian state structures in crimes.”

However, the claims were out rightly denied by Mykhailo Podoliak advisor to the head office of the President of Ukraine. "Ukraine definitely has nothing to do with this because we are not a criminal state, which the Russian Federation is, and even more so, we are not a terrorist state.” The statement came in an interview on Ukrainian T.V.

Against the backdrop of all the relevant information on the matter available, it clearly shows that Putin’s Brain Alexander Dugina was the target of this attack.

The Russian Investigative Committee said it believed someone planned and ordered the car explosion that killed Darya Dugina, based on evidence already collected from the blast.

A Member of the investigative committee said, "Taking into account the data already obtained, the investigation believes that the crime was pre-planned and was of an ordered nature," the investigative committee said in a statement Sunday.

As per the Russian Investigative Committee’s press report shown by the news agency TASS the explosive was fitted in a Toyota Land Cruiser which went off on a road on the outskirts of Moscow in the village Bolshiye Vyazemy.

Alexander Dugina, an ultra-nationalist philosopher is credited with being the architect or “spiritual guide” to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Purported to have a huge influence on Vladimir Putin despite not being a member of the office Alexander has a major say in several state-related matters.

Darya was herself a journalist and a pro-Russian who has been sanctioned by the US and UK authorities on multiple occasions.

The latest instance comes in July when the UK imposed its sanction for being "a frequent and high-profile contributor of disinformation about Ukraine and the Russian invasion of Ukraine on various online platforms.” She was also a subject of the US sanctions in 2015 when Russia annexed Crimea.

Russian officials associated with the matter said the explosive device was attached under the car "on the driver's side," and 400g of TNT was used, as reported by TASS.
