Sangrur/Chandigarh, February 17: A Sangrur based youth,Karam Sukhbir Singh, has been picked up by the National Rifle Association ofIndia in Indian men's Skeet team for the World Cup in rifle, pistol and shotgunto be staged in the national capital. All the country's top shooters, includingthe 15 Tokyo Olympics quota holders, are going to participate in the megaevent, scheduled to be held at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range from March18-29, 2021. Meanwhile, school education minister Punjab Mr. Vijay Inder Singlaand Deputy Commissioner Sangrur Mr. Ramvir also congratulated Karam Lehal forhis selection in the Indian team. 

Karam Lehal has won many accolades in the field of skeetshooting in the last 10 years, including many national and internationalmedals. In 2014, Karam Lehal participated in the Asian Shotgun Championship andwon a gold medal in the team event and a bronze medal in the individual event.In 2015, he won a gold medal in the team event at the 35th National Games inKerala and in 2015, he won the inter-university competition held at PunjabiUniversity. In the trials held in 2020 for the Olympic Games, Karam Lehalfinished fourth in the country in skeet shooting. Apart from this, Karam Lehalhas also proved his mettle in about 15 national and international competitions. 

Skeet shooter Karam Lehal said that he was very lucky to beselected for the World Cup and he credited this to his family members and lovedones. Karam Lehal said that after doing +2 from GGS School Sangrur, he didgraduation from Public College Samana and now has been pursuing MA in PoliticalScience from Khalsa College, Patiala.
