Diljit Dosanjh's highly anticipated Punjabi movie Sardaar Ji 3 was released in theaters overseas, amid widespread social media outrage in India. Diljit Dosanjh's decision to support the producers by promoting the movie on social media as well as going to the interviews ahead of the release of the movie sparked a massive uproar. The reason was the presence of a Pakistani actress, Hania Aamir. Hania Aamir worked alongside Diljit in the movie Sardaar Ji 3. During the Operation Sindoor, Hania Aamir had slammed the Indian Armed Forces' air strikes on terror launchpads in Pakistan and PoK.
As a result, the presence of Hania Aamir, the release of Sardaar Ji 3, with Diljit supporting the producers, exploded online. Multiple film bodies sent a letter to the Government of India, as well as top film-makers of India, not to give work to Diljit Dosanjh. They even demanded a complete boycott of Diljit in India. Not only this, but many Punjabi singers joined the debate and shared their point of view. While Jasbir Jassi, Jyoti Nooran, and Vindu Dara Singh defended Diljit Dosanjh, artists like B Praak, Mika Singh, and Guru Randhawa took strong stances against the move, citing national sentiment and calling out perceived insensitivity.
Now, Team Diljit Dosanjh, which is said to be an official fan page of the Punjabi singer, reacted to an influencer's video in which he said that Punjabi singers opposing Sardaar Ji 3 are only jealous. Notably, Diljit often shares Team Diljit Dosanjh's videos or stories in his posts. It is said to be an official fan page of the Punjabi singer.
An influencer named Manoj Moolchandani, who goes by the username 'vaishakhnandan09', shared a video on Instagram in which he said, ""All these Punjabi singers who are criticizing Diljit aren’t doing it because they are pro-India. No, that’s not the reason at all. They are doing it out of sheer jealousy. They can’t stand the fact that someone like Diljit has achieved so much in life. This has always been the case — even during Sidhu Moose Wala’s time, the same jealousy was visible. These people simply cannot digest Diljit’s success because they themselves couldn’t reach that level. I have witnessed this kind of hypocrisy and envy among them many times before. And once again, they are proving it through their actions today."
For those who are unaware, Jasbir Jassi defended Diljit, calling out “double standards” and highlighting cultural hypocrisy in boycotting one Pakistani artists. B Praak posted cryptically on Instagram, “Many artists have sold their conscience… Shame on you.”
Guru Randhawa took to his X handle and reminded artists of their national roots. His post, “You were born in India," was seen as a subtle dig at Diljit. Mika Singh directly slammed Diljit as “irresponsible” and even called him a “fake singer,” stressing that national sentiment should come before artistic collaborations. Jyoti Nooran rejected the idea of boycotting Diljit Dosanjh.
