‘Savdhaan India’, ‘Crime Patrol’ TV stars arrested in robbery case in Mumbai

Both actresses were seen leaving the premises in CCTV footage during the inquiry, according to the police.

According to the police, both of these actors left from the Aarey Colony on May 18 after allegedly taking Rs 3,28,000 from a woman who was living as a paid guest at the same apartment.

Mumbai: Two actors who appeared in crime-themed television shows such as ‘Savdhaan India’ and 'Crime Patrol’ were nabbed in a theft case on Friday, according to the police.

According to the authorities, both actors, who were experiencing financial hardship due to a lack of work, had recently relocated to a building in Aarey Colony's Royal Palm district, which was run by one of their friends as a paying guest house.


According to the police, both of these actors left from the Aarey Colony on May 18 after allegedly taking Rs 3,28,000 from a woman who was living as a paid guest at the same lodging.

The woman living as a paying guest told the Aarey police that she suspected TV stars Surabhi Surendra Lal Srivastava (25) and Mosina Mukhtar Sheikh (19) of stealing her money during their interrogation.

Both actresses were seen leaving the premises in CCTV footage during the inquiry, according to the police.

When the actresses were shown the CCTV footage in which they were plainly seen carrying the bundle of money, they broke down and confessed to the crime, according to the report.

"Apart from prominent TV programmes like Crime Patrol and Savdhaan India, the actresses have also featured in several web series," said Nutan Power of Aarey Police Station.

They were apprehended by the police and police recovered Rs 50,000 from them. Both of them were brought before the court. According to the police, the court has ordered both of them to be held in police custody until June 23.
