Sony Liv on Monday unveiled the motion poster of Hansal Mehta's upcoming web series Scam 2003 and sent the fans into a frenzy on social media. Scam 2003 motion poster was unveiled on Monday and ever since then, fans are eager to know which case it will focus on. After the success of Scam 1992, Hansal Mehta on Monday announced that Scam 2003 will be based upon 'Abdul Karim Telgi Stamp paper Scam'. Notably, Scam 1992 was based on fraud done by Harshad Mehta in the share market of India and the bank. 

Sony Liv took to its Twitter handle and announced that Scam2003 - The Curious Case of Abdul Karim Telgi will be adapted from the Hindi book 'Reporter ki Diary' authored by journalist Sanjay Singh. Scam 2003 announcement further stated that it was journalist Sanjay Singh who had unearthed the infamous Abdul Karim Telgi stamp paper scam case.

As per the official release, the Scam 2003 will cover the life of Abdul Karim Telgi who was born in Khanapur, Karnataka. Scam 2003 will showcase Telgi's journey to becoming the mastermind behind one of India's most ingenious scams spread across multiple states which shook the entire country. It was estimated that the Scam 2003 value was approx Rs 20,000 crore.

Those wondering about Abul Karim Telgi, he was a convicted Indian counterfeiter. Telgi earned money by printing counterfeit stamp paper in India. He died suffering from multiple organ failure in Bengaluru on 23 October 2017.
