In some heart-wrenching news out of Nawahshehr, it has come to light that a woman, identified as Prabhdeep used her husband and his family’s money to relocate to Canada and in an unprecedented and devious stab-in-the-back, did not confirm her husband’s PR status, forcing him to stay back in India.
The victim’s mother, Hardeep Kaur explains that her son Mandeep Singh, is a government teacher and works in Nawahshehr. She further explains that her family and Prabhdeep’s family were in close ties before hand. Prabhdeep’s father, Bhupinder Singh proposed the marriage of his daughter and Mandeep in 2017.
After this in December of 2017, Bhupinder Singh asked Hardeep’s family for assistance in helping her daughter study in Canada as his own financial status was not enough to facilitate. Mandeep’s family decided to agree and lent them 10 lakhs and 48 thousands INR to help Prabhdeep in her endeavours. In February of 2018, Prabhdeep went to Canada but returned in October 2018 to get married to Mandeep, and the 2 tied the knot on 13 October.
3 months later in January of 2019, Mandeep went to visit Prabhdeep in Canada as her dependent and claims that Prabhdeep was not the same as she was in India and furthermore had betrayed the sanctity of their marriage and his family’s trust. His mother claims that Prabhdeep’s father had further threatened her son’s future and asked for 10 lakh INR in order to bring Mandeep to Canada. She relented and gave 5 lakhs to Bhupinder but he in another bout of betrayal did not keep their word as it was revealed later that she had put her status as separated on his PR file, which exempted Mandeep from PR.
An FIR has been registered against Prabhdeep and Bhupinder Singh in the Nawahshehr police station and an investigation into the whole matter is being carried out.
