Afterhaving fought with Covid-19 for the past one month, Shahkot DeputySuperintendent of Police (DSP) Varinderpal Singh (52) died of Covid-19 on thewee hours of Sunday.

Asper information, on February 8, DSP Varinderpal Singh was diagnosed with mildfever and then after few hours on the same day doctors declared him Covid positive. Since then,he was admitted in a private hospital in Ludhiana.

“Fewdays back due to multiple organ failure, he was shifted to a ventilator.Doctors told the family members of DSP Varinderpal that his lungs couldn'trecover”, says sources while adding that he failed to respond to the treatmentand breathed his last on Sunday at 3.48 am.

Singhis survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. His cremation was held todaybetween 12-12.30 PM at Sarabha Nagar in Ludhiana.

Meanwhile,confirming the report of the death of DSP Varinderpal, Punjab Police officialpage on Facebook posted message, which reads, “We regret to inform about theunfortunate demise of our DSP Shahkot Varinderpal Singh after fighting a month-longbattle against #COVID. May the departed soul rest in peace. Our thoughts andprayers are with the bereaved family”.
