Shantanu Muluk granted transit anticipatory bail from Bombay court in toolkit case

Shantanu has been charged in the “toolkit” case for creating and spreading hatred against the country about farmers' protest.

Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court on Tuesday has granted 10 days transit anticipatory bail to activist Shantanu Muluk in connection with the toolkit case. Shantanu, a Pune engineer, is alleged to be involved in creating the toolkit document relating to the farmers’ protest. 

It is to be noted that, on Monday a non-bailable warrant was issued against Shantanu. Meanwhile, the Bombay High Court has reserved order on the plea of activist Nikita Jacob, one of the editors of the Toolkit doc, which will be heard tomorrow. 

Till then no action will be taken Delhi Police has said. 

A Delhi Police team had also visited Shantanu's parents in the Beed district,  who is absconding. His parents were interrogated and the police team also went to Shantanu's bank branch to inquire about his account details.

Talking to Zee News, Shivlal, Shantanu’s father said that a team of Delhi police had visited them on February 12 and were questioned, while Shantanu's mother said, "I had a conversation with my son a few days ago when he came for the wedding of a cousin. We haven't spoken since then. We are worried about his whereabouts."

Disha Ravi, Nikita Jacob and Shantanu Muluk have been accused of creating a toolkit document which was shared by Swedish teen climate activist Greta Thunberg, lending her support to the protesting farmers. In the document, various urgent actions, including creating a Twitter storm and protesting outside Indian embassies, were reportedly listed which were needed to be taken to support the farmers' protest.
