Shocking: 65-year-old woman’s dead body nibbled by rats in private hospital’s mortuary

The deceased woman was admitted to the hospital after she had suffered a cardiac arrest two days ago.

Shocking news has erupted from Kerala’s Palakkad district where the dead body of a 65-year-old woman was eaten by rats while it was preserved in the mortuary of a private hospital where she died.

The bereaved family of the 65-year-old woman who passed on Tuesday night has alleged that her body was nibbled by rats in the mortuary.

The deceased woman was admitted to the hospital after she had suffered a cardiac arrest two days ago.

The family decided to keep the body in hospital’s mortuary for a day because the required facilities to keep the dead body at home were not home.

However on Wednesday morning when the family reached the hospital to collect the body, they noticed bite marks on the cheek and nose.

When the family asked the hospital authorities about the same, they said the body had been nibbled at by rats.

It may be noted here that the hospital has not yet given an official statement on the issue. Meanwhile, the district officer of Palakkad has assured to file a report shortly.
