‘Show must go on’: Dr KK Agarwal’s last video before he succumbed to Covid proves he was True Warrior

Dr. Agarwal had caught Covid pneumonia. He was admitted to AIIMS Delhi and was on ventilator support.

Dr. KK Agarwal, Former President of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) passed away on the night of May 17 after a long fight with coronavirus infection. But, before taking his last breath, in his last educational video about Covid19 he said ‘the show must go on.’

In the video, he announced that he has caught Covid pneumonia which is progressive. The Padam Shri awardee, Dr. Agarwal was admitted to AIIMS Delhi and was on ventilator support. Around 11:30 pm on Monday, he died of Covid19.

His last educational video on coronavirus going around on the internet shows Dr. Agarwal had been fighting the virus bravely. In the video, he can be seen saying ‘the show must go on’. During his address, he encouraged the medical fraternity and said, “Even I am suffering from Covid19. I have pneumonia which is progressive. But remember the show must go on- Picture Abhi Baki Hai.”

“We represent the collective consciousness of the society. Our job is to shift to ‘jugadu’ OPD. Gather a hundred patients with similar symptoms and give them a joint consultation for 15 minutes. Time for one-to-one consultation has gone, we have to get people out of this crisis, ” he said.

He further requested all the doctors to gather patients with similar symptoms like loss of smell or taste in batches of 100s and give them consultations on the Zoom app.

On his unfortunate death, his family said, He was unwavering in his mission of making quality healthcare available to the masses especially the economically weaker sections. Even with the pandemic raging, he worked relentlessly to reach out to over 100 million people through his digital initiatives. His informational videos and educational programs proved instrumental in saving a large number of lives from the viral infection.”

“He is gone, but his spirit of spreading positivity irrespective of the situation is something we all need to imbibe.”
