Earlier he had a meeting with leaders in Kapurthala and Ludhiana. Navjot Singh Sidhu started showing off his power to the high command of the Congress Party before changing the Party State head. The reason behind this is, that Sidhu is not in the names sent by Congress for the post of President.

Former minister Razia Sultana, Sukhbinder Danny, Mohinder KP, Primal Khalsa, Najar Singh Manshahia, Muhammad Mustafa, Ashwani Sekhdi, Hardayal Kamboj were present in Patiala for the lunch. It is the third meeting in two weeks since the resignation. He does resign from his post but did not take the responsibility for the defeat in Punjab. Regarding the defeat of the Congress Party in Punjab, Sidhu refused to take responsibility. He said that the election was fought under the leadership of Charanjit Singh Channi so he is not accountable for it.
