Sidhu’s adviser and Ex-DGP Mustafa courts controversy again allegedly calls Sri Guru Granth Sahib a book; SGPC seeks Public apology

The former DGP Muhammad Mustafa, Strategic Advisor to Punjab Congress Chief Navjot Sidhu, is again embroiled in a fresh controversy.  Mustafa has now allegedly called Sri Guru Granth Sahib a book during an election rally in Malerkotla.  The Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) has condemned  the statement of  the Congress leader and former DGP Mustafa as soon as his video surfaced online and asked him to apologise to the Sikh community. 

He said Sri Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru before his passing away had enshrined the Guruship to Sri Guru Granth Sahib and asked the Sikh community to follow the Holy Scripture as Guru.He said the Sikh community has immense devotion in Sri Guru Granth Sahib and the Sikhs live their lives after taking guidance from the Gurbani written in the word Guru.

Advocate Dhami said that Sri Guru Granth Sahib is the spiritual Guru( master) of all mankind. Mustafa has hurt the religious sentiments of Sikh community.SGPC President said that Mohammad Mustafa should openly apologise and if does not do so, legal action would be initiated against him.

A few days back, his one video surfaced in which the former Punjab DGP Mohammad Mustafa, is heard blatantly threatening Hindus of dire repercussions if they dare to hold their events near his event during a public meeting. However, he clarified that there was no communal angle in his speech.He said that he had regretted the choice of words, there was no Hindu-Muslim angle as is being made out. 

Mustafa's wife Razia Sultana who is a cabinet minister in the Government of Punjab, is contesting from Malerkotla on a Congress ticket in the forthcoming assembly election in Punjab.
