Sri Lanka and Afghanistan on Monday locked horns in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in Pune. The Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan World Cup 2023 match was among the most important matches for both teams as the teams have been started to be eliminated from the ICC's marquee tournament. However, SLvsAFG World Cup 2023 raised many eyebrows around the world when a kid collapsed during Sri Lanka's National Anthem.

Yes! you read it right. A kid who was acting as a mascot fainted during  Sri Lanka's National Anthem. When the national anthem was being sung in the Pune stadium, the child seemed restless. Finally, he gave up and fainted while Sri Lankan players continued to sing their national anthem before the start of the match. When the kid was about to go down on the ground, the Sri Lankan player held him and then a physio rushed to take him out of the Pune heat.

It is worth mentioning that Sri Lanka's national anthem is among the longest in the cricketing world. As per reports,  the composer of the two-and-a-half-minute-long “Sri Lanka Matha”- Ananda Samarakoon, was a student of Rabindranath Tagore at Shantiniketan, and it is said that Tagore too had a substantial contribution towards the lyrics and tune. Interestingly the anthem has official versions in 2 languages – Sinhalese and Tamil, the latter in use in some of the northern parts of the island nation.
