A small amount of salt is essential for the normal physiological functioning of the human body. A high salt diet can contribute to high blood pressure, stroke, heart disease, osteoporosis, stomach cancer, kidney disease, renal stones, and obesity. To overcome this issue, Japanese researchers have found a new solution for it.

Due to the increasing trend of fast food in the world, the amount of salt in people's diet is increasing. It is very bad for our organs like heart and kidney. Smart chopsticks have been developed jointly by Professor Home Miyashita of Meiji University and beverage maker company Kirin Holdings.

These smart chopsticks are electric. According to the report of the news agency Reuters, when a person eats food with the help of these chopsticks, then sodium ions (atoms) are transferred from the food to the chopsticks and then from the chopsticks to the mouth through a light current. This increases the taste of salt up to 1.5 times.

The chopsticks are attached to a mini-computer device that can be worn on the wrist like a watch. The function of this device is to operate chopsticks and regulate sodium ions.

Smart chopsticks can prove to be helpful. Even after reducing the amount of salt in the food through these, we will not have to compromise with the taste. Miyashita and Kirin may bring Smart Chopsticks to market next year.
