Soldier who blew himself up to stop Russian tank to be honoured with title 'Hero of Ukraine'

The 'brave' Ukrainian soldier was named Vitaly Skakun Volodymyrovych who did not think twice before sacrificing his life in order to save his country from Russian invasion.

In what can be called an ultimate sacrifice, a Ukrainian soldier blew himself up to stop a Russian tank on a bridge connecting the mainland of Ukraine and Russia-Occupied Crimea. As per reports, the Ukrainian soldier's sacrifice did not go into vain as after he blew himself the Russian tank was forced to stop from crossing the bridge and enter mainland Ukraine. The 'brave' Ukrainian soldier was named Vitaly Skakun Volodymyrovych who did not think twice before sacrificing his life in order to save his country from Russian invasion. 

Now, as per a European media report, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has decided to honour Vitaly Skakun Volodymyrovych for making the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of the country. Reportedly, Zelenskyy will award the title of 'Hero of Ukraine' to Vitaly Skakun posthumously. 

Notably, three Ukrainian soldiers on Friday did not give up and did not vacate the 'Snake Island' despite Russian Naval forces warning them to vacate the island or else face missile attack. All the three soldiers who refused to lay down their arms were martyred and later their sacrifices were also acknowledged by the Ukrainian government. 

Ukraine seeks ban on OTT and social media platforms in Russia


Ukraine’s Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov wrote letters to owners of various social media and OTT media platforms seeking a ban of their services in Moscow. As per a letter shared by Ukraine World,  Mykhailo Fedorov wrote letter to OTT platforms and social media including Netflix, Facebook, Instagram to ban their services in Russia for their 'deceptive and outrageous military attack' on Ukraine.

Coming to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Moscow amassed over 150,000 troops on Ukraine's borders in a bid to pressurise Western nations to not allow Kyiv to join NATO, threatening an invasion. On Thursday, Putin ordered a special military operation in Ukraine's Donbas region, which quickly turned into precision airstrikes on Kyiv, Kharkiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, deployed tanks towards Lviv from the Belarus-Ukraine border. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy 137 died after first day of fighting. Till now the official death toll has raised to 198 which includes Ukrainian civilians and army personnel.
