Srinagar Police arrested five miscreants involved in throwing petrol bombs at police and Special Forces (SFs) and scaring people in the Downtown area of Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar.

Police station MR Gunj Srinagar along with PP Urdu Bazar and PP Banamohalla achieved a big breakthrough in busting a module of five miscreants who were active since several months. The group used to hurl petrol bombs on vehicles of police and SFs.

In addition, they also used to threaten locals and force them to shut their shops and business establishments and keep traffic off roads after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A.

The group was involved in hurling petrol bombs on police and SFs at Sarafkadal, Bohrikadal, Rajourikadal and Khanyar as well in Nowhatta area.

However, the surprising part about the group is that they used to keep a Class 3 student for spotting movement of security vehicles.

These arrests will help in restoring overall normalcy in Downtown area of the city and will lead to identification and arrests of more miscreants in the coming days.
