It’s been a year since we lost Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. He died by suicide on June 14, 2020, in his Mumbai apartment. His untimely death shook the country with peopleclaiming that it was not suicide but a planned murder and a probe was demanded by his fans.
CBI, ED, NCB, Bihar and Mumbai Police investigated the matter. Sushant's final post-mortem report came on June 25 and was prepared by a team of five doctors. The report clearly statedthat the actor died of suffocation after hanging.
However, even today fans refuse to believe it was a suicide and Sushant Singh Rajput trends on Twitter almost every day. During the investigation, many people came under the radar ofthe agencies investigating SSR’s death.
After his death, CBI issued a 12,000-page charge sheet against 33 people in the Bollywood-drugs mafia inquiry case tied to Sushant's death, including actress Rhea Chakraborty, herbrother Showik, and others.
Here’s the list of Sushant’s some of the closest people who were summoned and questioned many times by the investigating agencies. Of these, a few have also been booked inthe drug case related to SSR.
Rhea Chakraborty- Girlfriend
Actor Rhea Chakraborty is one of the important people related to the case of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. Rhea was in a live-in relationship with Sushant during his last days.She’s been accused of abetment to suicide, fraud of Rs 15 crore and even planning and killing SSR.
Rhea has been summoned three times by Mumbai Police, CBI and ED. Besides being his girlfriend, Rhea was a partner in all three companies of Sushant. She has also been arrested by NCBin a drug case related to Sushant and is currently out on bail.
Showik Chakraborty- Rhea's brother
Rhea’s brother Showik was a partner in two companies of SSR. Reportedly, after Rhea, Shovik was in charge of making all decisions for Sushant. He used to hang out with SSR andRhea and was accused of using Sushant’s money for staying in hotels, trips etc.
Showik has been questioned multiple times by investigating agencies and was arrested in the drug case. He is also out on bail.
Priyanka Singh- Sushant's sister
Rhea Chakraborty had filed a case against Sushant’s sister Priyanka Singh. Rhea had accused her of forgery and giving banned medications to SSR. After this, Priyanka had approachedHigh Court against the FIR. However, the HC refused to quash the FIR against her and the investigation is still on.
Siddharth Pithani- Sushant's close friend
Siddharth Pithani was the friend and roommate of Sushant Singh Rajput. The creative content manager was very close to Sushant. SSR had hired him to make graphics in his company VividrageRealityX. Rhea and Showik were partners of Sushant in this company.
It was Siddharth who first saw the body of SSR hanging from the fan and called his sister Mity. Reportedly Pithani had said that only on the request of Mitu, they brought down Sushant’sbody and checked his breath.
He has been questioned multiple times by CBI, ED and NCB and Bihar and Mumbai police. He was also arrested by NCB in the drug case.
Samuel Miranda- Home manager
Samuel Miranda was Sushant’s house manager. He used to keep an account of the employees working in the house and home expenses. He was arrested by the NCB for procuring and hoardingdrugs and was also named in the money laundering case registered by ED. SSR’s father had also named Samuel in the case along with Rhea and Showik.
Neeraj Singh- Cook
Neeraj Singh was Suhsant’s cook and was working in the house for the last 8 months. Allegedly, he was hired by Rhea just a few months before Sushant’s body was found in hisapartment.
Neeraj has been questioned multiple times by Bihar and Mumbai police, NCB and ED. He has stated that on the day of his suicide the actor asked him for water and then went to the room.
According to Neeraj, he had knocked a few times on SSR’s door but did not receive any reply after which his sister was called. “He was eating less, but he was fine. He wastalking normally and did not seem depressed,” said Neeraj.
Keshav Bachner- Cook
Keshav Bachner was also a cook in Sushant’s house. He worked there for one and a half years. He was also hired by Rhea. Investigating agencies have questioned him multiple times.
Dipesh Sawant- House Caretaker
He was the caretaker of SSR’s house. He went missing after being questioned by Mumbai police. However, he reappeared when NCB summoned him for the investigation.
Dipesh was arrested by NCB in a case for procuring and storing drugs for the actor. Dipesh was also hired by Rhea. The ED, CBI, NCB and Mumbai police questioned Dipesh about how themoney was withdrawn from SSR’s bank account and what was Rhea’s role in it.
Shruti Modi- Manager
Shruti was SSR’s manager after Disha Salian. She used to manage Sushant’s finances and films. Shruti was questioned by CBI thrice, ED twice, NCB team 4 times. She had giveninformation related to Sushant's work and his investment to the ED.
Apart from this, a chat of Shruti and Rhea Chakraborty was also leaked. Reportedly, Shruti told that Riya used to take all the decisions of Sushant.
Mahesh Shetty- Sushant's close friend
Mahesh Shetty was a common friend of the couple. He has been interrogated by the CBI, Mumbai Police.
Apart from Rhea, Sushant had called Mahesh for the last time, however, Mahesh also missed the call and they could not speak. Reportedly, Mahesh was very close to Sushant.
